George Mardle
35 years experience in the education system. After work
as a teacher in London and Kent he became a lecturer
in education at the University of Keele. Responsibilities
included programme manager for PGCE programmes, responsibility
for Masters degree programmes in Education. Research
and publication record particularly in the areas of
mentoring in ITT. In 1997 he set up a GRTP programme
at the University of Wolverhampton (one of the first
in the country) and in 1999 also became a Regional Recruitment
Adviser with the TTA. He worked on the DfEE working
party looking at the developments in GTP and worked
with HMI in the early stages of their work on inspection
of GTP. He has spoken at numerous national and regional
conferences on GTP development and worked with a number
of groups and schools to help set up GTP programmes.
David Dickson
David has extensive experience in school and university
management having worked within a number of school senior
management teams. He has led the education management
programme of the University of the West of England and
contributed to a number of major research initiatives
on Investors in People, and staff development within
the Police Forces of England and Wales. David has piloted
N.P.Q.H. training and contributed to a number of initiatives
linked to performance review and the significance of
principle centred leadership strategies in the building
of capacity within organisations. David also acts as
a consultant to the Teacher Training Agency on aspects
of Mentoring and the recruitment and retention of staff.
